Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced bridge and structure project manager capable of managing multiple projects for public and private sector clients in bridge and structure asset management. This role primarily focuses on North America but offers opportunities to support our global business with your expertise.

Responsibilities
  • Lead client-facing bridge and structure asset management projects, including traveling to client sites for technical meetings and business process development.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, representing Mott MacDonald at conferences and workshops, delivering presentations, and providing national leadership.
  • Manage project teams, directing and reviewing work of technical staff.
  • Make independent administrative decisions regarding project direction and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate project delivery, ensuring profitability, timeliness, and client satisfaction, including projects involving BMS software, preservation management, and asset management planning.
  • Incorporate risk, resiliency, sustainability, safety, and equity into project execution.
  • Ensure quality assurance and client satisfaction across projects.
  • Develop scopes of work, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with subconsultants, inspectors, vendors, and team members.
  • Support account management and client relationship efforts.
  • Engage in marketing activities, including attending conferences, client meetings, and industry events.
  • Create and deliver presentations to support projects and business development.
Candidate Experience
  • Minimum 10+ years in bridge or structure project/program management, managing complex projects.
  • Experience in a leadership role in public agencies or consulting, with emphasis on asset management, bridge management, inspection, design, or load rating.
  • At least 5 years in commercial asset management system implementation or operations.
  • Proficiency with GIS, spatial data, databases, and spreadsheets is a plus.
  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • Professional Engineering licensure (NCEES certification preferred).
Additional Skills and Qualities
  • Knowledge of bridge deterioration modes and management practices.
  • Proficiency in project management principles.
  • Ability to secure advisory services and facilitate high-profile meetings.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
