Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Principal Project Manager for the Americas Engineered Solutions team in Cranberry Township, PA. You will lead medium-to-complex projects, typically under $15M, coordinating engineering, field services, software, and process improvements.

You will report to the Director of Major Projects and may supervise teams of 5–20, with a mix of on-site and mobile work arrangements. Strong PMI knowledge and nuclear domain experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (PM, Engineering, Business, Construction Management).
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience.
• Equivalent education/experience may be considered.
• Advanced knowledge of PMI's Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
• Broad technical knowledge of nuclear power plants; familiarity with utility practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage projects within the AES group, including scope, schedule and cost baselines.
• Assume overall responsibility for profitability of contracts.
• Coordinate staffing and resources to complete work per plan.
• Manage scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, and communications.
• Coordinate with customer, architect/engineer, constructors and Westinghouse areas.
• Prepare cost expenditure forecasts and progress evaluations (Earned Value).
• Close projects by archiving documentation and reporting outcomes.

As a Principal Project Manager on the Americas Engineered Solutions team, you will be managing projects within the AES organization where we design and build operating plant NSSS components, design modifications for -and support- operating plants. You will be responsible for all project management processes on medium complexity projects or on a portion (i.e. work package) of highly complex projects, typically below $15M in value. These can include component and uprating projects. The role will supervise medium team sizes (average 5-20 team members) which will include project controls. You may serve as a Technical Inputs Lead for medium complexity projects as assigned. May be assigned overall project manager responsibility of a highly complex project in a deputy capacity (with direct guidance of a Program Manager or higher).

Example project disciplines include Engineering, Field Services, Software, Innovation/Product Development, and Process Improvement. All project management is performed in accordance with the established Westinghouse policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.

You will report to the Director of Major Projects and will be based out of our Cranberry Township, PA location. This role is eligible for a mobile working arrangement and is expected on site 2-3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete all aspects of planning process including authoring project plans and developing scope, schedule, and cost baselines.
• Assume overall responsibility for profitability of contracts.
• Based on project plan, follow department protocols for acquiring team members to complete the work.
• Manage all aspects of project including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders through use of delegates/support as applicable.
• Interpret and transmit project/contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to functional groups following an integrated change management process.
• Prepare or oversee project cost expenditure forecasts and progress evaluations/projections (including Earned Value Management) to support project performance and financial reporting requirements.
• Review project expenditures for compliance with project baselines and scope.
• Develop or oversee project databases, systems and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation between project team members.
• Properly close project by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools. Perform final project quality assessment and report out.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work.
• Serve as single representative to customer, architect engineer, constructor and Westinghouse business areas in support of project.
• Interpret and transmit contract requirements, and subsequent changes, to functional groups.
• Integrate project's objectives and actions through participation with other project groups in matters of common concern.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree. Applicable disciplines are Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of Project Management experience
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• Advanced knowledge of Project Management Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge.
• Broad technical knowledge of nuclear power plants. Familiarity with utility business practices including knowledge of utility operations, maintenance and engineering practices, knowledge of procurement processes and material management are desirable but not mandatory. For international projects, knowledge of local business practices and contracting.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $103,200.00 to $129,000.00 per year.
