Job summary

SNC is seeking a Principal Program Planning and Scheduling Analyst to lead the development of integrated master schedules for highly complex projects. The role emphasizes advanced scheduling methods, risk mitigation, and cross-functional coordination to ensure on-time delivery.

You will mentor junior schedulers, drive best practices, and present schedule insights to senior leadership while aligning with organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in PM/Engineering/Business or related field.
• 8+ years in project planning and scheduling; 12 years if no degree.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling tool.
• Excellent follow-up and proactive communication.
• Ability to collaborate with multi-faceted teams to drive issues to closure.
• Deep knowledge of EVM, DCMA 14-point & IPMDAR.
• Mastery of Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).

The Principal Program Planning and Scheduling Analyst serves as a subject matter expert in scheduling, offering strategic oversight for multiple projects or programs. This role involves the optimization of scheduling processes, development of advanced scheduling methodologies, and mentoring of junior schedulers. The Principal Program Planning and Scheduling Analyst ensures that all project schedules are realistic, achievable, and aligned with organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the preparation, development, and coordination of integrated master plans and schedules for highly complex projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Oversee the tracking and maintenance of project plans and schedules to ensure horizontal and vertical integration across the enterprise.
• Conduct advanced risk analysis to identify and proactively mitigate schedule risks, ensuring project timelines are met.
• Identify and resolve critical path and network logic conflicts using Gantt, Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT), milestone charts, and other advanced project management techniques.
• Evaluate schedule compliance and systematically identify reasons for completion shortfalls, implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Prepare and present detailed reports and presentations on schedule status to senior stakeholders, providing clear insights and recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive scheduling data, fostering effective communication and coordination.
• Support program management in developing and implementing advanced scheduling best practices, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Mentor and guide junior and intermediate analysts on advanced scheduling techniques and best practices, fostering their professional development.
• Actively participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes, providing expertise on scheduling and project management.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree targeting Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling, or a related field.
• Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 12 years of related experience is required.
• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project Professional or other similar scheduling tool.
• Ability to proactively drive conversations and ask detailed questions.
• Must have excellent follow-up/follow-through skills.
• Comfortable collaborating with multi-faceted teams to drive issues to closure within your domain.
• Ability to confidently communicate status to completion on workload, and raise roadblocks/issues to team for mitigation.
• Advanced proficiency with project management tools such as Microsoft Project or similar schedule toolset.
• Deep knowledge and experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of DCMA 14-point & IPMDAR DI_MGMT-81861.
• In-depth knowledge of Mil Standard 881.
• Expertise in applying Critical Path Analysis and Schedule Risk Analysis.
