Reports to: VP of Product and Program Management

We are building the #1 collaborative workflow solution tailored for defense, intelligence, security, and critical infrastructure organizations. As a profitable, growing, venture-backed company, we serve some of the world's most important organizations, including USAF Air Mobility Command, allied cybersecurity centers, global technology companies, and vital financial institutions. Our innovative Intelligent Mission Environment platform empowers these sectors to operate with cutting-edge efficiency and security. We seek a visionary Principal Product Manager to work closely with our co-founders, engineering leaders, and key customers to shape our products' future and drive rapid, precise execution and iteration to meet customer needs and accelerate success.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Vision: Contribute to the strategic vision for our Intelligent Mission Environment in partnership with co-founders, key customers, and the product, design, and engineering teams. Collaborate with marketing and sales to ensure alignment and cohesive execution.
2. Domain Expertise: Develop expertise in domains such as DoD, Mission Operations, critical infrastructure, JADC2, and Zero Trust architecture. Understand market needs, competitive environment, and where Mattermost can add unique value. Train internal staff on customer domains related to cyber and national security operations.
3. Strategic Foresight: Understand current and future market needs. Envision and build an adaptable platform that supports legacy infrastructure, cloud-based services, and AI infrastructure for future national security investments.
4. Revenue Growth: Develop and implement strategies for rapid revenue growth by connecting visionary product ideas with market demands.
5. Collaboration: Work closely with co-founders, the executive team, sales, marketing, and other product managers to deliver value to defense, intelligence, security, and critical infrastructure organizations. Share responsibilities across core collaboration platform and vertical use cases.
6. Leadership: Lead engineering teams to implement and iterate on software systems rapidly, balancing speed, security, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications:

1. Experience: 7-10 years in product management, with at least 5 years in leadership roles within defense, intelligence, or cyber communities.
2. Expertise: Proven track record in DoD, Mission Operations, critical infrastructure, JADC2, Zero Trust architecture, cyber operations, or the intelligence community. U.S. security clearance eligibility required.
3. Visionary Thinking: Ability to foresee market trends and translate into product strategies.
4. Strategic Alignment: Strong ability to align product roadmaps with business goals to drive revenue growth.
5. Leadership: Exceptional leadership skills with a collaborative mindset to guide cross-functional teams.
6. This role may require obtaining and maintaining a U.S. security clearance. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and eligible for a U.S. government security clearance.

Salary Range: $220,000 - $250,000 a year
