Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. seeks a Principal Product Manager to own the multi-year strategy for Akamai Cloud developer tooling, APIs, and infrastructure integrations.

You will lead the evolution of developer tools, from CLIs to SDKs and Terraform providers, while aligning API governance and platform performance. You will partner with engineering to push OpenAPI standards, API gateway capabilities, and model-context AI workflows, driving a cohesive Developer Experience across Akamai Cloud

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience and a BS in CS or related field.
• Experience designing REST, gRPC, or GraphQL APIs and delivering developer tools including CLIs, SDKs, and Terraform providers.
• Expertise in API Gateway architectures, traffic management, and authentication (OAuth2, mTLS).
• Proven track record evolving mature developer platforms and managing breaking-change lifecycles.
• Familiarity with LLM function calling, AI agent frameworks, and Model Context Protocol.

Responsibilities

• Craft the multi-year vision, strategy, and execution roadmap for Akamai Cloud developer tooling.
• Modernize enterprise API paths while elevating API quality and platform performance.
• Pioneer AI-first workflows and developer interfaces for agents and LLMs.
• Collaborate with engineering on API design guidelines, OpenAPI, schema governance, and API Gateway features.
• Oversee official developer tools including CLI, SDKs, and IaC providers.
• Shape the Developer Experience strategy across platforms for consistency and efficiency.
