Job summary

SoFi is seeking a Principal Product Manager to own a strategic product area, setting vision, strategy, and a multi-year roadmap. You will work closely with engineering, design, data science, risk, legal, compliance, and executive leadership to prioritize features, secure resources, and execute at scale.

You will bridge technical and business worlds, driving profitable growth while managing risk and regulatory requirements, and inspire with an ambitious roadmap and clear metrics for member impact

Qualifications

• Experience owning end-to-end product delivery and P&L or key business outcomes.
• 8+ years of product management experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in a technical, finance, or quantitative field.
• Strong cross-functional leadership with engineering, design, data science, security, compliance, legal, and analytics.
• Deep technical fluency and ability to collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and architects on trade-offs and design decisions.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity, trade-offs, and evolving constraints in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity for diverse stakeholders and present to C-level leadership.
• Proven track record leading technically complex or highly strategic products at scale.
• Demonstrated ability to balance long-term platform and product investments with near-term delivery needs.
• Experience in fintech, financial services, payments, or other highly regulated industries.
• MBA or advanced degree in a technical, business, or quantitative field.
• Experience with data-driven, personalized, or AI-powered consumer products.
• Experience building and mentoring high-performing product teams.
• Passion for helping members achieve financial independence and get their money right.

Responsibilities

• Lead one of SoFi's most strategic product areas with a clear vision and multi-year roadmap.
• Set strategy and drive execution across engineering, design, data science, risk, legal, compliance, and leadership.
• Bridge technical and business worlds to grow profitability while managing risk and regulatory requirements.
• Inspire with roadmap and ambitious goals; be gritty and accountable for outcomes.
• Own and evolve product vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap; break vision into phases and backlogs.
• Drive platform strategy focusing on scalability, reliability, security, and compliance; guide long-term investments.
• Partner with engineering on architectural decisions and long-term trade-offs.
• Engage risk, compliance, legal, and security to align capabilities with regulations.
• Define success metrics and rigorously measure impact on member outcomes and revenue.
• Lead build-vs-buy evaluations and technology trade-offs; run experiments to validate hypotheses.
• Influence company strategy, mentor other PMs, and raise the bar for product craft.
• Communicate vision and strategy to stakeholders up to C-level leadership.
