Job Description Summary:

The Principal Professional Services Engineer brings creativity, curiosity and passion to the role. They demonstrate deep technical versatility, and the experience to deliver differentiated exceptional customer experiences to Rocket’s Product customers by:

• Delivering services that allow for successful post-sales deployment of Rocket products
• Solving real problems for, and delivering real value to, our customers and partners – every day
• Delivering successful outcomes for our customers and partners with speed, precision, quality, and innovation
• Demonstrating that we take commitments seriously – to our customers, to our partners, and to each other

This role will be in our MultiValue professional services team who work on customer engagements that involve migrating platforms, transaction journaling, emulation settings, replication assistance and other administrative tasks with our MultiValue products.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience required
    • 5+ years Consulting experience, preferably in a professional services environment
    • 8+ years in a related Information Technology position
  • Advanced technical hands-on experience including
    • Solid experience working with jBASE – Having also experience with Universe or Unidata is a plus.
    • Excellent working knowledge of underlying operating systems (Windows/Linux/AIX)
    • Scripting experience in Windows/Linux/AIX
    • Integration of web applications with MultiValue database using modern approach, i.e.: RESTful, SOAP
    • Experience programming in MultiValue (PICK) Basic Language, specifically with jBASE. Working knowledge of Universe, Unidata, D3 or Reality is a plus.
    • OOP experience in any language is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Must be self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, regardless of timeline or time zone variations.

    • Problem determination, diagnosis, identification, testing, and resolution
    • Relationship management
    • Excellent written and verbal communication

Additional Qualifications:

  • Previous customer facing experience – preferable as a Consultant.
  • Knowledge in using the following software is a plus: Jira, GIT, Salesforce
  • Bonus: Knowledge of DEVOPS implementation, SDLC, RESTful services, HTML, Java, C++, C#, Python, or other development language. Front end development experience using any JavaScript framework (Vue.js, Angular, React, Node or other).

Technical Leadership

  • Accountable for technical and team leadership on customer engagements
  • Represents the technical team in project communications
  • Responsible for leading architecture, design and delivery of the solution
  • Determines technical resource skill requirements for project delivery tasks
  • Assist Project Management in change control risk management, planning, estimating and drive toward expected outcomes
  • Demonstrates an understanding of practical application of Rocket products in a variety of customer environments
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams on new features based on customer input
  • Articulates the practical application of the products in a variety of customer environments
  • Identifies opportunities for additional customer technology enhancements through understanding of Rocket product solutions
  • Contributes as subject matter expert in services pre-sales activities including discovery, scoping and solution proposals

Services to Customers

  • Provide exceptional value-driven services to customers
  • Builds upon established solution delivery techniques to help drive continual improvement
  • Guides and trains customers in best practice configuration and use of Rocket products
  • Establishes credibility as a Rocket product expert with all audience levels
  • Mentors and teaches other consultants on product implementation strategies
  • Leverages Rocket subject matter experts to provide effective and creative solutions to Rocket customers
  • Assertively and persuasively deals with challenges
  • Partners with Project Management to develop an effective approach to projects that considers customer objectives, timeframe and budget
  • Gains an understanding of the customer business and seeks to identify opportunities where Rocket can bring added value to the customer

The base salary range for this role is $124,572.50 - $155,715.75 /year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. .
