This Principal Product Designer role works as a connective force across Studio cycles, stepping in wherever the biggest gap appears and translating ambiguity into clear, buildable direction.

In this position, you’ll flex across multiple areas including Vision Setting, AI Incubation, Craft and Systems, and End-to-End Product Quality. You’ll lead fast from unclear inputs to concrete outcomes, facilitate cross-functional problem solving, and raise AI-native design quality through hands‑on execution and mentorship.

What you’ll do

• Move fluidly across Vision Setting, AI Incubation, Craft & Systems, and End-to-End Product Quality based on where the Studio needs the most support during each cycle
• Turn ambiguous ideas or “nothing to something” into outcomes that are both concrete and high quality, independently and quickly
• Operate as a design facilitator by bringing designers, PMs, and engineers into the same problem, building shared ownership, and keeping initiatives moving without relying on a manager to manage every handoff
• Lead AI Incubation work end to end when required, shaping fast-moving 0-to-1 efforts into real product form
• Maintain and encourage a high bar of craft in the area you’re operating, mentoring mid-level designers and unblocking ambiguity they cannot resolve on their own yet
• Partner closely with engineering by understanding technical constraints and using them to shape stronger solutions while pushing what’s possible
• Represent the Studio’s design point of view in cross‑functional and platform‑level conversations, translating design direction into terms product and engineering leaders can act on
• Use AI-powered prototyping tools to move from concept to validated direction at the pace required by the work
• Advocate for higher craft and quality standards across the Studio

What you bring

• 10+ years of hands‑on product design experience in enterprise, platform, or complex B2B products, with demonstrated breadth across multiple problem spaces
• A track record of delivering ambiguous, cross‑functional initiatives to outcomes, including situations where you were not the most senior by title but became the person others rallied around
• Comfort at the intersection of design, product, and engineering, with emotional intelligence to partner with engineers under pressure
• Deep, hands‑on fluency with AI as a design material, including how AI‑native products should look, feel, and behave, and how to design experiences that make powerful AI capabilities feel simple
• Strong facilitation instincts, including the ability to build alignment and maintain momentum without formal authority
• A bias toward fast, iterative validation over polished but slower execution, with fluency in AI‑powered design and prototyping tools such as Claude and Cursor (or similar)
• Experience mentoring other designers, including the ability to decide when to unblock directly versus when to build someone’s capability
• Excellent executive communication skills to clearly and persuasively represent design thinking to senior stakeholders
• A Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or a related field
• A portfolio showing range across problem types and altitudes, plus evidence of facilitation and cross‑functional leadership

Compensation: USD 233,500 - 323,000 per year
