The Quickbooks CRM team is seeking a Principal Designer to innovate with Generative AI, customer obsession, and forward-thinking patterns to address challenges faced by small and medium businesses. We desire design hackers, pragmatists, and unconventional thinkers who can bridge conceptual design with emerging technologies and platform capabilities. You should be a maker, unafraid of complex challenges that lead to paradigm-shifting ideas. Thriving in ambiguity and being a creative systems thinker are essential. You will join a dedicated design team focused on creating game-changing user experiences that empower our customers and integrate users into the core of the Intuit platform.

The expected base pay range for this position is: Bay Area: $229,000 - 309,500. The role is eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits, according to our plans and programs. Pay is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Intuit also ensures pay equity through regular comparisons across ethnicity and gender categories.

Responsibilities

1. Strategic Design Leadership:

• Define and lead the design vision for key PDX initiatives, aligning with Intuit’s overall strategy and business goals.
• Establish design principles and standards to promote consistency and excellence.
• Collaborate with design and product leaders to develop future-facing product and UX strategies.

Design Execution and Innovation:

• Lead the design of complex, cross-functional projects from concept to completion.
• Create high-fidelity prototypes and specifications to communicate design intent and vision.
• Explore and implement innovative design solutions leveraging emerging patterns and AI.
• Advance our design systems to be future-forward and efficient.

Storytelling and Communication:

• Articulate design concepts and rationale through compelling presentations and narratives.
• Influence and inspire cross-functional teams and leadership through effective storytelling.
• Facilitate design artifacts, workshops, and critiques to align leadership and teams.

Mentorship and Influence:

• Mentor and guide staff and senior designers, fostering their professional growth.
• Establish yourself as a thought leader within the design community, internally and externally.
• Drive the adoption of best practices and new design standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in product design, preferably with large-scale products.
• Exceptional storytelling and communication skills to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Expertise in design systems, interaction design, and visual design.
• Proven track record of leading impactful design solutions across complex products and platforms.
• Ability to convey ideas through storyboarding, wireframing, and prototyping.
• A portfolio demonstrating user-centered design principles and craftsmanship.
• Ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams including design, product management, marketing, and engineering.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret qualitative and quantitative data for informed design decisions.
• Excellent collaboration skills to lead and inspire teams across functions.
