About the job

The Principal Product Commercialization Specialist is responsible for maximizing revenue and adoption of channel product expansions and cross‑functional technology offerings. The role involves assessing market conditions, providing strategy to meet corporate growth targets, elevating positioning and competitive plans, pricing, packaging, and driving launch to adoption of key products and features. This position focuses on existing and emerging markets, portfolio business acquisitions, and multiple complex product lines. It is pivotal in establishing vision and strategy, driving cross‑functional alignment, and ensuring R&D teams are enabled to solve the highest value opportunities.

Key responsibilities
  • Strategy and Vision: Develop and continuously refine the vision and strategy for Channels, recommend product strategy across multiple portfolios, and influence corporate strategy over the next three years.
  • Cross‑functional Leadership: Partner with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, and Industry Leads to define and exceed commercial goals, serving as the primary product point of contact.
  • Market Intelligence: Serve as an expert on market intelligence, customers, evaluators, and competitors; conduct external, market‑driven discovery and research to inform strategy.
  • Data‑Driven Decisions: Provide analysis for quarterly business reviews, own health and trends, and provide insights on bookings, win rates, attach rates, penetration, profitability, and retention.
  • Value Creation & Ideation: Create an ideation pipeline for new offerings, evaluate buy/build/partner opportunities, and lead product acquisition due diligence for M&A targets.
  • Prioritization: Rationalize key opportunities with product management and engineering, prioritize high‑value problems, and partner through execution, launch, and post‑launch adoption.
  • Launch: Represent the product team in packaging and pricing strategy, contribute to launch planning, and define adoption and utilization strategy with cross‑functional partners.
  • Evangelization: Partner with Marketing and Industry teams to evangelize product differentiation, lead innovation updates, and engage with partner user groups, advisory boards, and key accounts.
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
  • 12 years of overall relevant experience, including 8+ years of progressive experience in tech solutioning, product management, product strategy, or product marketing overseeing complex B2B product portfolios, and 3+ years with domain experience in enterprise analytics and data enablement; SAS experience preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
  • Expert product knowledge with external audiences (press, analysts, trade shows).
  • Deep domain/market understanding of channel/reseller experiences, monetization, and software development lifecycle for on‑premise and SaaS delivery models.
  • Track record of developing and executing market‑driven product strategies that deliver measurable value.
  • Experience in discovery, market research, articulating business value, and investment trade‑off decisioning.
  • Proven ability to build strong cross‑functional partnerships to scale and drive growth.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.
