Job summary

King County’s KCIT is seeking a Principal IT Engineer for a Special Duty assignment to lead embedded Power Platform initiatives across county business units. You will design and deliver scalable solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Power BI, while mentoring peers and shaping governance practices.

Qualifications

• Eight or more years of hands-on Power Platform development, configuration, and production support experience.
• Experience authoring Solution Design Documents (SDDs) or equivalent technical design artifacts.
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps for source control, CI/CD pipelines, and ALM-aware deployments.
• Experience using GitHub Copilot or equivalent AI-assisted development tools.
• Expert-level Power Fx knowledge and Dataverse security model understanding.
• Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable low-code solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead stakeholder discovery sessions and document business requirements.
• Design and build Canvas, Model-Driven Apps, and Power Pages solutions on Power Platform.
• Author and maintain Power Automate flows across various data sources.
• Design and manage Dataverse schemas, security roles, and business rules.
• Govern end-to-end ALM delivery using Azure DevOps pipelines and version control.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct design/code reviews.
• Collaborate with architecture, security, and infrastructure teams to meet governance standards.
• Produce handoff docs, quickstart guides, and training materials.
