Gusto is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead Workflows for Gusto Pro, focusing on accountants and payroll/advisory services for SMBs. You will shape product strategy, partner with cross-functional teams, and deliver AI-enhanced solutions that scale for millions of small businesses.

You will drive discovery, define a long-term vision, and execute iteratively while measuring impact and sharing a compelling narrative with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on Product Management experience and/or Product leadership experience.
• Proven track record of leading R&D teams that deliver impactful results.
• Natural curiosity, grit, customer obsession and humility.
• Expert product discovery and analytical skills.
• Ability to tell a compelling story that drives alignment and inspires action.
• Exceptional collaboration skills; quickly build trust with teams and customers.
• A passion for helping small and medium size businesses.
• A strong POV and demonstrated impact through building products in the age of AI.

Responsibilities

• Lead product discovery to uncover deep customer problems and test risky assumptions.
• Create a long-term vision and strategy with durable competitive advantage.
• Build iteratively to prove hypotheses and test new concepts with strong signals.
• Partner with Engineering, Design, and Data Science on all development stages.
• Execute rapidly with emphasis on user delight, impact, and learning; take calculated risks.
• Balance hands-on building with strategic storytelling to create clarity and value.
• Define, measure, and improve key product and business metrics for payroll workflows and permissions.
