Nasdaq is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to shape the technical direction of its institutional investing platforms. You will blend hands-on engineering with strategic influence, explore new technologies, and guide architecture decisions with global teams.

Ideal candidates are deeply technical, collaborative, and capable of turning ambiguity into well-engineered solutions, with hybrid work a few days in the office each week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience delivering large-scale systems.
• Experience leading architecture design and technical strategy across teams or workstreams.
• Deep expertise in full-stack development, cloud infrastructure and modern software practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration, influencing decisions in global environments.
• Experience with AI-assisted development, including LLMs, agentic workflows, or spec-driven development.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive technical architecture across multiple engineering teams, scalable and secure.
• Lead PoC initiatives for emerging technologies and translate findings into adoption plans.
• Serve as a technical lead on large projects with mentorship and hands-on contribution.
• Partner with product, design, and platform engineering to align decisions with business priorities.
• Establish engineering standards and best practices to elevate quality and consistency.
