Job summary

Software Placement Group, SPG seeks a Principal Planner to lead supply chain and MRP at its Rochester, NH facility. This highly visible role partners with Operations to ensure production, inventory and contractual commitments stay aligned.

You will own deadlines, drive MRP signals, train others on Oracle ASCP, and lead continuous improvement in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business or related field.
• 10+ years of global production/manufacturing experience with MRP focus.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably Oracle EBS with ASCP.
• Comfortable training others and working in an Agile environment.
• Strong MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage critical supply chain deadlines, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and contractual commitments.
• Drive accuracy and effectiveness of MRP signals to support production and inventory flow while complying with policies.
• Partner with Operations and Production to resolve issues and remove constraints.
• Monitor schedules, track performance, and mitigate delivery risks.
• Identify end-of-life inventory, PO or work order liability, and new product implementations for assigned programs.
• Leverage data from multiple systems to deliver analytics and insights to leadership, and train others on data sources and analytics practices.
• Act as a key escalation point within Planning and drive cross-functional solutions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen supply chain performance.
• Provide guidance and training on Oracle ASCP to elevate planning capabilities.
• Participate in and sustain 5S Standards and ISO procedures.

Overview

An established, brand-name manufacturer with a long operating history and a large multi-site U.S. and global footprint is seeking a Principal Planner to lead supply chain and material requirements planning at its state-of-the-art, 24/7 manufacturing facility. This is a highly visible role partnering closely with Operations to ensure production, inventory, and contractual commitments stay aligned.

What you'll do

• Own and manage critical supply chain deadlines, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and contractual commitments
• Drive accuracy and effectiveness of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) signals to support seamless production and inventory flow while remaining compliant with internal policies and customer requirements
• Partner with Operations and Production to resolve issues, remove constraints, and keep manufacturing on track
• Monitor schedules, track performance, and proactively mitigate risks to delivery timelines
• Identify and manage end-of-life inventory, PO or work order liability, and new product implementations for assigned programs with no supervision
• Leverage data from multiple systems to deliver clear analytics and insights to leadership, and provide assistance and training to others on the Planning team regarding data sources and efficient analytics practices
• Act as a key escalation point within Planning, influencing decisions and driving cross-functional solutions
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen overall supply chain performance
• Provide guidance and training on Oracle ASCP to elevate planning capabilities across the team
• Participate in and sustain 5S Standards
• Follow all required Safety and ISO procedures

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field (equivalent experience considered)
• 10+ years of experience working for a global company in a production/manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated expertise in Material Requirements Planning (MRP), including evaluating and maintaining accurate planning signals while ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and customer requirements
• Strong understanding of supply chain management concepts
• Proficiency with a top-tier ERP system, preferably Oracle EBS, including ASCP
• Comfortable training others on relevant aspects of manufacturing and Office applications
• Prior work in an Agile environment
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Able to operate independently at a high level and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Must currently reside within a reasonable daily commute to Rochester, NH, or be willing to relocate upon hire with company assistance
• Able to successfully pass a drug and background check
• Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent Resident due to the nature of the company's industry and government regulations

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in at least one of the following industries preferred: machining plant, defense contractor, aerospace company, retailer, and/or bioscience
• APICS certification would be a plus
• Preference given to local candidates and those closer to NH
