Job summary

WuXi AppTec is seeking a Study Pathologist to lead pathology activities across preclinical toxicology studies in a CRO/pharma environment. You will perform macroscopic and microscopic evaluations, write pathology reports, and participate in peer reviews per SOPs.

The role requires a DVM or equivalent, ACVP board certification, and 10+ years of toxicologic pathology experience in CRO or pharmaceutical settings. Base salary is competitive with a strong focus on quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Attend key activities of preclinical studies regarding pathology and perform macroscopic/microscopic exams.
  • Prepare comprehensive pathology reports and data evaluations.
  • Participate in pathology peer review per SOPs and protocols.
  • Act as Principal Investigator for pathology-related activities.
  • Educate and train junior pathologists on an ongoing basis.
  • Communicate with sponsors to discuss pathology results and respond to questions.
  • Advise Study Directors on pathology-related study plans and outcomes.
  • Ensure GLP compliance and adherence to SOPs during study activities.
  • Conduct toxicology and medical device studies under GLP/CNAs requirements.

Job description

Overview: WuXi AppTec Pathologists contribute to a wide range of critical activities within Toxicology, Safety, and Biocompatibility. Testing including but not limited to study evaluation for nonclinical studies spanning all phases of drug development for pharmaceutical industries.

Responsibilities

  • As a study pathologist, attend all key activities of preclinical studies regarding pathology, perform macroscopic and microscopic examination, evaluate pathological data and write comprehensive pathology report
  • Function as a Peer review pathologist, take part in pathology peer review as SOP and protocol required
  • Function as a Principal Investigator, responsible for pathology-related activities
  • Conduct planned, long-term education and training for junior pathologists
  • Communicate with sponsors to answer questions and discuss results regarding the pathology report
  • Provide consultation to Study Directors on studies
  • Ensure the compliance of various GLPs, comply with protocol and SOPs during study activities
  • Responsible for conducting toxicology and medical device studies in compliance with GLP/CNAS

Experience / Education

  • DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) or equivalent
  • ACVP Board Certification is required
  • 10+ years of toxicological pathology experience in the CRO or pharmaceutical industry

The expected base salary for this role is $180,000 to $210,000
