Responsibilities
- Support development and integration of communications and other RF subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives.
- Develop and manage requirements and interfaces.
- Verify and validate all allocated requirements.
- Translate customer requirements into derived specifications.
- Perform Computational Electromagnetic (CEM) antenna analysis for source/victim (co‑site) analysis.
- Conduct detailed trade studies.
- Perform risk analysis and develop mitigation plans and track to closure.
- Collaborate with engineers and program stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain supplier documentation, performance‑based specifications, and statements of work.
- Provide technical management of program strategic partners and suppliers, including acquisition, acceptance, qualification, system integration and test support.
- Review supplier development documents and support technical interchange meetings and design reviews.
- Identify, plan and execute informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements in lab.
- Troubleshoot hardware in the lab.
- Perform aircraft ground and flight tests to validate and verify subsystem requirements.
- Support technical discussions with the customer and daily interaction with management, external personnel, customers, and sub‑teams.
Expected Skills
- Knowledge of electromagnetics in the RF spectrum (VHF through Ka bands).
- Ability to design, select and characterize RF components to meet mission objectives.
- Knowledge of system engineering design methods, requirements analysis and flow‑down, specification derivation and interface control documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work well in a close team environment.
Basic Qualifications
- Principal Level: Bachelors in a STEM field + 5+ years of relevant experience, OR Master’s + 3+ years, OR PhD + 1+ year.
- Senior Principal Level: Bachelors in a STEM field + 8+ years of relevant experience, OR Master’s + 6+ years, OR PhD + 4+ years.
- Active US Government Secret or higher clearance, background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled in Continuous Evaluation.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable time.
- Experience in CEM antenna analysis for source/victim (co‑site) analysis.
- Experience in designing, integrating, testing, installing, and operating LOS and BLOS communication systems in airborne military applications.
- Experience with voice, military and network waveforms; cryptographic implementations; RF antenna and component design and performance analysis.
- Data analysis experience.
- Supplier/subcontract management experience.
- Experience developing supplier documentation, performance‑based specifications, and statements of work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engaging directly with internal and external technical and programmatic representatives.
- Problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Quick assimilation of new concepts, self‑directed work.
- Model‑based systems engineering using Cameo, SysML tools.
- Performance analysis using MATLAB, Excel, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence).
- Supplier evaluation criteria development and technical evaluation experience.
- Active US Government Top Secret Clearance.
Salary Range
Principal Level: $152,100.00 – $228,100.00. Secondary Level Salary Range: $0.00 – $0.00.
