Job summary

Amazon Leo in Redmond, WA is seeking an Optical Reliability Engineer to ensure long-term reliability of optical systems, components, and subsystems, including optical amplifiers and laser-based technologies. You will work with design, systems, and test teams to develop reliability strategies that meet lifetime requirements and improve product quality.

The role emphasizes rigorous reliability analysis, FMEA/FTA/RCA, ALT/HALT testing, Weibull methods, and documentation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Physics, Electrical, Optical Engineering, or related field.
Experience with optics, opto-electronics and electronics.
Experience with reliability engineering principles, models, and analyses.
Experience with data analysis software (Python, MATLAB, JMP).

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain reliability models for optical and electrical components.
Perform FMEA, FTA, and RCA for optical systems and subsystems.
Define ALT and HALT programs for optical components.
Apply Weibull analysis and other statistics to predict lifetimes.
Collaborate with system-level teams to improve reliability and availability.
Create reliability documentation and test plans for new products.
