Principal On-Call Technical Writer - Remote

We are seeking a versatile Technical/Proposal Writer with a curious mindset and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts into clear, compelling prose. Experience with government proposals is preferred. The role involves shaping narratives around emerging technologies and public services, translating complex ideas into accessible language, and collaborating with various teams to produce high-quality proposals and technical documents.
Develop, write, and edit proposals, including technical, management, and past performance sections.
Review and refine proposal content for clarity, accuracy, and compliance with RFP requirements.
Lead technical writing efforts for strategic proposals, focusing on digital modernization, application development, data analytics, AI/ML, agile methodologies, engineering, and cybersecurity.
Collaborate with technical and business teams to articulate technical approaches tailored to client needs.
Create capability statements and technical briefs showcasing expertise in digital transformation and data-driven solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in English, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years supporting or writing federal and/or state proposals.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
10+ years in technical writing or proposal development within technology or digital sectors.
Master's Degree.
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SDLC.
Experience with AI and automation tools.
Excellent organizational and communication skills with an audience-centered approach.
Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and work effectively in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
