Job summary

ERM is seeking a Principal Consultant, Due Diligence (Mergers & Acquisitions) to join our Houston, Austin, or Dallas office. You will advise on environmental, health, safety, and ESG due diligence for upstream/midstream oil & gas investments, guiding buy/sell decisions and facilitating successful deal outcomes.

With 10+ years of related experience and strong regulatory knowledge, you will mentor teams, lead complex engagements, and build senior-client relationships while expanding ERM’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or related discipline.
• 6–8 years (12+ preferred) of environmental consulting experience with upstream/midstream transactions.
• Project management and leadership skills; ability to lead diverse teams.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations & site assessment methodologies (ASTM Phase I/II).

Responsibilities

• Lead upstream and midstream environmental, EHS, and ESG due diligence projects from local to global scale.
• Manage teams and serve as senior technical reviewer for soil, groundwater, and liability deliverables.
• Assist in proposal writing and development; identify opportunities for growth.
• Develop client relationships and ensure delivery of high-quality, timely reports.
