RTX is seeking a Principal Networking and Virtualization Systems Engineer Specialist for an onsite role in Largo, FL. The position requires active DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship, with responsibilities spanning VM orchestration, Linux scripting, and network analysis.

Travel up to 30% is required to deploy solutions at customer sites and coordinate field and lab activities. A STEM degree (or higher) with extensive relevant experience is expected.

What YOU will do:

• Support efforts with cross-functional team members (hardware and software engineers) to ensure system compatibility and performance
• Build new and maintain existing virtual machines in a lab environment
• Build new and maintain existing Linux scripts in a lab environment
• Analyze network switch interfaces and debug data and communications issues
• Travel to the customer site and deploy software and hardware solutions, often on short notice
• Act as an interface between the field and lab teams during travel events.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Extensive experience with DevOps pipelines operating in both Linux and Windows environments
• Extensive experience building virtual machines and debugging network issues
• Practical experience with Ansible/YAML
• Experience with writing and maintaining scripts
• Ability to travel up to 30% per year and flexibility to travel on short notice
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
• Active and transferable U.S. Government (DoD) Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain an active U.S. Government (DoD) Top Secret Clearance
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with Survivable Mobile Command Center architectures and operations
• Experience working on fielded systems
• Experience with systems support to software and hardware development
• Experience with Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3)
• Experience with computer networking for ground-based, ship, submarine, or airborne platforms
• An active Top Secret clearance with SCI caveat

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
