In Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems, you'll help develop systems that sense, control, exploit, and disseminate actionable information to warfighters supporting a variety of missions.

Embark on a journey of innovation with BAE Systems' Platform Engineering group, where we seek a Network Engineer to deploy, monitor, and maintain core/spine, aggregation/leaf, firewall, and multi-site routing. In this role, you will implement robust, repeatable, standardized, and advanced technological solutions, addressing today's needs while laying the foundation for future operations.

As a Network Engineer, you will implement the latest in Software Defined Networking (SDN) via automation to support growing IT and Data Center service needs. You will work on resolving existing problems with an eye towards future technological needs. Network Engineers work within the SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) group and collaborate with Cross-capability teams including Core Services, DevOps, Security, and IT Operations to achieve project objectives. Key Responsibilities
  1. Deliver Excellence: Work in a team of Network Engineers and SREs to ensure seamless, continuous service delivery.
  2. Innovate and Implement: From concept to execution, bring service methodologies to life.
  3. Be the Problem Solver: Demonstrate strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proactive approach to network optimization and incident response.
  4. Measurement and Monitoring: Instrument and measure key performance indicators of the production environment to enable continuous improvement.
  5. Support the Infrastructure: Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large-scale network infrastructures.
  6. Communicate and Collaborate: Coordinate with cross-team members to complete tasks.
  7. Experience: Multiple years' experience with Juniper Networks or Cisco networking equipment, operating system functions, and security hardening.
  8. Physical: Ability to move, rack, stack, and install physical equipment by lifting up to 50 lbs.

Note: This role requires in-person collaboration and will be performed full-time onsite at a BAE Systems facility.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Clearance: Active DOD Secret clearance (investigation within 5 years)
  • Experience: 5+ years in Network Engineering
  • Enthusiasm: A desire to deliver excellence and focus on meeting user needs
  • Networking Protocols: Knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, SMTP, NFS, DHCP, DNS, FTP, Telnet, and SSH
  • Technological: Expertise in Layer 2/3 networking, including VLANs, STP, VxLAN, OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP
  • Architecture: Fundamental understanding of the OSI model
  • Infrastructure Automation: Understanding of SDN and service lifecycle management
  • Security: Experience applying DISA STIGs and resolving security vulnerabilities
  • Problem Solving: Proactive approach to performance issues
  • Compliance: Security+ or equivalent, or ability to obtain within 90 days
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university
  • Certifications in Juniper, Palo Alto Networks, or Cisco technologies
  • Experience with protocol analyzers/sniffers like Wireshark
  • Knowledge of fabric networking solutions, including VxLAN, EVPN, and other SDN approaches
  • Experience with multi-vendor environments (Juniper, Palo Alto, F5, Cisco, etc.)
  • Experience with network automation platforms like Ansible
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and drawing tools
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $115,779 - $196,825

Note: Salaries depend on various factors including skills, education, experience, and market conditions.
