Principle Network Engineer
Oversees the planning, design, and development of all aspects of network systems that meet requirements for performance, security, and compliance with standards and regulations. Identifies network requirements for hardware, software, and services that will provide optimal solutions and meet the company's capacities.
Job Duties / Key Accountabilities:
- Write compelling responses to RFP requirements and develop cost models for proposed solutions.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in the implementation and installation of new products and infrastructure to support company growth and maintain existing systems.
- Partner with peers to deliver new capabilities supporting the business roadmap.
- Ensure all security requirements are met based on audits and reviews.
- Drive innovation and modernization through the technology stack.
- Understand Wide Area Networks and routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
- Coordinate with telecommunications providers for quotes, ordering, and delivery of data communications.
- Research and develop IoT solutions supporting data communications using 4G, LTE, 5G, and VSAT between POS terminals and gaming systems.
- Understand AWS and Azure cloud services interconnectivity between traditional and cloud-based Data Centers.
- Implement network design, feasibility, and cost studies.
- Develop monitoring, maintenance, expansion, contingency, and recovery plans.
- Develop budgets, policies, and procedures for infrastructure support.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
- Communicate effectively complex technical concepts internally and externally.
- Translate business needs into network engineering opportunities to support strategic goals.
- Collaborate with engineering and IT teams on cross-functional projects.
Qualifications / Skills / Knowledge:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or 20+ years of relevant experience.
- At least 10 years in a technology leadership role with experience in large-scale infrastructure projects and managing cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of IT network architecture, management, and support.
- Ability to develop technology strategies and align across departments.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, written, and oral communication skills.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Data Center and Enterprise.
- Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) and Detection and Remediation Analyst (PCDRA).
- Basic knowledge of Python programming.
- Ability to analyze packet captures using Wireshark.
Authority / Decision Making:
- Full authority to make decisions driving project results.
Language Skills:
- Spanish proficiency required.
Job Conditions:
- Ability to view monitors for extended periods.
- Depth perception and object recognition skills.
- Pass a background check and travel up to 20% of the time, including international travel.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
