GFT in Chicago, IL is seeking a Principal Environmental Planner/NEPA Lead to join our Environmental team. This hybrid role focuses on NEPA clearance, environmental planning, and project leadership on transportation and infrastructure programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in planning, Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, Physical Sciences or related field.
• 20 years of progressive, relevant experience in environmental planning and NEPA.
• Ability to develop technical proposals and fee estimates for large projects.
• Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead NEPA and permitting work and oversee environmental documents.
• Mentor staff and manage client relationships and project tasks.
• Oversee budgets, scope and schedules for NEPA projects.
