Job summary

Snap Inc. in California is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer for the Signals & Measurement team to design and scale ML systems across the full signal lifecycle, from acquisition to causal measurement, with a focus on advertising and ranking use cases.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of post-Bachelor’s ML experience; or a Master’s + 8+ years ML experience; or a PhD + 5+ years ML experience
• 2+ years of technical leadership or domain-expert experience
• Experience developing and shipping performant and scalable ML models for recommendation or ranking use cases

Responsibilities

• Design and develop ML systems across the third-party signal lifecycle, from acquisition and curation to matching, attribution, and causal measurement
• Design, implement, and scale critical ML models to support Snap's monetization strategies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set and align on ML strategies to meet company objectives
• Stay up-to-date with the latest ML tech and apply it to tackle complex problems
• Collaborate with leadership to up-level the ML stack and improve performance across the org
• Understand product requirements, evaluate trade-offs, and deliver solutions for innovative products or services
• Advocate for and apply best practices for availability, scalability, and cost management
• Provide technical direction that influences the entire ML community
