Job summary

Thompson Software Solutions seeks a Principal Software Engineer — Mission Systems to lead the design, development, integration and testing of avionics software for mission-critical systems.

You will work on real-time embedded C/C++ across mission computers, data links, displays and EW components, with opportunities to influence architecture and safety-critical performance. Active Secret clearance required; Fort Worth or Palmdale location; travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline.
• 8+ years of C/C++ development experience.
• Experience in mission systems software architecture, including design, development, and integration.
• C / C++ development for real-time embedded systems.
• Integration and interoperability testing in lab and simulated environments.
• Willingness to work onsite 100%.
• Ability to travel 10%.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and test software for mission systems within avionics architectures.
• Collaborate with multi-site teams to deliver cohesive, real-time functionality.
• Document complex designs and participate in architectural reviews.
