Job summary

FIS is seeking a Principal Engineer to shape the platform used by multiple teams to reach customers via email, push, and SMS. You will define how messages are composed, branded, delivered, measured, and governed across many institutions, ensuring compliance by default.

You will lead the direction for customer messaging, choose build/buy/adopt approaches, and connect business stakeholders with engineering. You will ensure reliability, branding accuracy, and regulatory alignment in every channel.

Qualifications

• Experience architecting production-grade messaging platforms at scale.
• Hands-on with email delivery, push notifications and SMS.
• Knowledge of deliverability and authentication standards (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) and regulatory SMS compliance.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and technical strategy for customer messaging across email, push and SMS.
• Build shared services for message templating, multi-brand theming, personalization and orchestration.
• Own deliverability, reliability and compliance; lead vendor decisions and platform tradeoffs.
• Enable AI-assisted workflows to compose, personalize and send messages safely.
• Translate business needs into platform capabilities and roadmaps.
