Job summary

Raytheon seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to design, develop and sustain test environments for missile defense products in Tucson, AZ. The role is onsite with security clearance requirements and hands-on engineering across vibration, thermal and electro-optical systems.

• Skilled in using CAD solid modeling and analysis tools, with an emphasis on ProE / CREO Parametric for complex design and engineering workflows.
• Demonstrated experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T) analysis.
• Experience creating mechanical drawing packages.

The Test Equipment Engineering (TEE) Directorate is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing test solutions for all Raytheon Missile Defense (RMD) products. We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world. TEE products are located in engineering labs, in the field, and in production environments utilized for weapon system product verification, qualification, test data analysis, and production test solution development. • Design experience with mechanical and electronic packaging.
• Experience with Configuration Management processes, application, and tools (e.g., Windchill / cPDM).
• Experience in Model Based Engineering or Model Based Design.
• Experience in mechanical sub-systems packaging, materials, thermal analysis, structural analysis, control systems, electrical hardware design, or large assembly development.
• Experience with environmental stress screening of hardware (e.g., vibration, shock, thermal, etc.).
• Systems engineering experience.
• Knowledge of basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
• Experience in proposal development and the first four gates within the Integrated Product Development System (IPDS).
• Experience with providing guidance and assistance to less experienced professionals and/or support employees.
