Job summary

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems is seeking a seasoned mechanical engineer to design and integrate components for solid rocket motor systems, including cases, nozzles, insulation, and structural interfaces. You will apply advanced analysis and testing methods to ensure mechanically functioning equipment meets performance requirements.

The role requires an Associate's Degree with 8–10 years of experience (Engineering degree preferred).

Qualifications

• Requires practical engineering background with 8-10 years of experience in mechanical design and analysis.
• Engineering degree preferred to support advanced vehicle components and testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed thermal analysis of solid rocket motor components and develop predictive ablation and erosion models.
• Evaluate and recommend ablative materials and thermal protection system solutions, then present to peers and customers.
• Investigate equipment failures and collaborate with teams to resolve system malfunctions.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure design integrity from concept through qualification and field use.
