Job summary

Audubon Companies is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Associate, Principal to join our Houston, TX office. The role focuses on leading mechanical design, reviewing vendor drawings, and coordinating across clients and contractors to ensure project success.

Responsibilities include preparing specifications, calculations, site visits, and development of design packages while managing budgets and schedules. Strong experience in piping systems and ASME/API codes is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• ABET-accredited degree preferred.
• Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Field experience required.
• Industry experience required.
• Minimum of 20 years of experience preferred.
• Large multi-discipline project lead experience preferred.
• Caesar II, NozzlePRO and/or PIPE-FLO software experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of piping systems and process equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of ASME, API piping and pressure vessel codes preferred.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to travel offshore to client facilities or obtain HUET certification.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare advanced level specifications detailing performance requirements, design codes, and vendor drawing requirements.
• Prepare engineering sketches, calculations and analysis models for complex projects.
• Review and approve vendor drawings for compliance with specifications.
• Interact with clients, subcontractors, vendors and other consultants.
• Plan and manage workload, budgets and project resources; ensure on-time delivery.
• Develop design packages and participate in risk management and design control procedures.
• Visit job-sites and vendor facilities to evaluate requirements and conditions.
• Prepare inquiries, bids and cost estimates; review technical issues and provide guidance.
