VoltForce is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to set the technical direction for new injection-molded products at our Mount Laurel, NJ site. You will lead a small team and own each product from concept through EVT/DVT/PVT to production launch.

You will review concepts, CAD models, and requirements, advise on DFM and tooling, and drive design for manufacturing with hands-on prototyping and cross-functional collaboration.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 7+ years mechanical design, including NPI and leading teams.
• Injection-molded part design, tooling, and DFM/DFA through production launch.
• Experience launching production at factory floor level.
• Strong 3D CAD and FEA skills (SolidWorks, Creo, NX or equivalent).
• Experience with overseas suppliers and PLM systems.
• Knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing processes, including ISO 8 cleanroom requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Define engineering direction and technical strategy for new injection-molded products.
• Review CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and requirements for DFM and production readiness.
• Own mechanical development from concept through EVT/DVT/PVT and launch.
• Support tooling and quoting by assessing part complexity and cycle times.
• Mentor a small team of engineers and designers to improve design output.
• Build prototypes via machining, 3D printing, and soft tooling.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, sales, manufacturing, and quality.
