Job summary

1HMX / AIS is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to serve as the senior technical authority for mechanical and electromechanical design across our most complex programs. You will set technical direction, resolve difficult design challenges, and mentor engineers while driving end-to-end designs from ideation to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant product design experience and technical leadership on complex programs.
• Deep experience designing/mechanical/electromechanical assemblies from concept to production.
• Strong math, stress, and thermal analysis skills with attention to tolerances.
• Experience with plastic, elastomer, metal parts, EMC basics, rapid prototyping and packaging.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural and detailed mechanical/electromechanical design on complex programs.
• Set technical direction and roadmaps for mechanical capabilities.
• Own design standards, best practices, and manufacturing readiness reviews.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with customers and factory teams.
• Oversee reliability testing and design reviews across programs.
