Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer, Genset to serve as the U.S. technical lead for gas engine-based power generation systems used in data centers and distributed energy projects. Lead design, integration, and execution from concept through commissioning, ensuring code compliance.

The role collaborates with global teams, suppliers, and customers, driving technical alignment, managing risks, and delivering successful project outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 12+ years of mechanical engineering experience in industrial power generation or energy systems.
• 6+ years with generator sets, gas engines, diesel engines, or packaged power generation.
• Experience reviewing GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and 3D models.
• Strong knowledge of structural integration, vibration isolation, ventilation, thermal management, and mechanical system design.
• Experience managing suppliers and project technical interfaces.

Responsabilités

• Lead mechanical engineering activities for gas engine generator systems from requirements through commissioning.
• Define system architecture, design requirements, and technical specifications.
• Review and approve GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and 3D models.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and on-time delivery.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation plans throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
