Job summary

ThinKom seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design, analysis, development, and manufacturing of advanced stationary and mobile antenna systems. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams from concept to production and customer support.

This role offers technical leadership, mentorship of junior engineers, and responsibility for FEA, design reviews, and DFM practices. Salary ranges and extensive benefits support a strong total compensation package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• 10+ years of hands-on mechanical engineering and hardware development.
• Expert GD&T, detailed drawing creation, DFM/DFA, and configuration management.
• Creo 3D CAD modeling expertise; U.S. work authorization (Green Card/US citizen).
• Experience supporting U.S. Government contracts is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and end-to-end design of stationary and mobile antenna systems.
• Serve as Lead Mechanical Engineer on flagship programs and mentor engineers.
• Drive design, FEA, rapid prototyping, and root-cause troubleshooting.
• Mentor juniors and promote DFM standards across teams.
• Oversee structural, thermal, dynamic analyses for reliability in harsh environments.
• Collaborate with production and suppliers to streamline manufacturing and reduce costs.
• Present concepts and participate in major reviews and technical proposals.
