Job summary

Continuous Composites Inc. is seeking a Principal Materials Engineer to lead the development of high-temperature ceramic matrix composites (CMCs) using the CF3D printing platform.

You will own from preform development through densification and guide a team to deliver production-ready materials for aerospace applications. The role requires expertise in CMCs (C/C, C/SiC, C/C-SiC) via PIP, CVI, MI, strong leadership, and ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, and external partners.

Qualifications

• Masters or PhD in chemical, materials, or manufacturing engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in composites engineering with a focus on high-temperature materials.
• Experience developing densified CMCs (C/C, C/SiC, C/C-SiC) via PIP, CVI, MI.
• Proven track record leading R&D projects.
• Experience with material characterization techniques.
• Excellent communication and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Materials Team to create CMCs from proof of concept to production for real world applications, e.g. thermal protection systems for aerospace.
• Own the research and development of CMCs to generate preforms and process them into a final, densified part.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, business) as well as vendors and research institutions to execute multi-year development plans.
