Some manufacturing engineering roles are about improving an established process.

This one starts earlier.

We’re recruiting a Principal Manufacturing Engineer with deep experience in laser processing and precision manufacturing to help determine how challenging new products should be manufactured in the first place.

You’ll evaluate technical feasibility, develop processes, identify equipment and technology needs, and take new manufacturing capabilities from concept through validation and production.

This is a senior technical role for someone who has become the person others call when the manufacturing problem isn’t straightforward.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll serve as a technical leader and subject matter expert in laser processing and advanced manufacturing, including:

• Developing and optimizing precision laser processes including laser welding, cutting, marking and micromachining
• Evaluating new products and customer requirements for manufacturing feasibility
• Developing manufacturing processes from early concept through validation and production
• Supporting DFM and recommending practical manufacturing approaches
• Evaluating and selecting new manufacturing technologies and capital equipment
• Supporting technical quotations by defining equipment, tooling and process requirements
• Troubleshooting complex manufacturing and process problems
• Supporting equipment implementation, qualification and production scale-up
• Working directly with customers, engineering, operations, quality and commercial teams
• Establishing technical standards and best practices for laser processing
• Mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership

What We're Looking For

We’re looking for someone with enough depth in laser processing that they’ve become a go-to technical resource when the problem gets difficult.

A strong background will likely include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
• Approximately 10+ years of manufacturing engineering, laser processing or related precision manufacturing experience
• Significant hands‑on experience with laser welding, laser cutting, laser marking, laser micromachining or similar precision laser technologies
• Experience developing manufacturing processes from concept through production
• Experience evaluating, selecting, implementing or qualifying manufacturing equipment
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause problem‑solving skills
• Experience with DFM, technical feasibility evaluations or technical quotations
• Ability to work directly with customers and translate technical requirements into manufacturing solutions
• Experience providing technical leadership or mentoring other engineers

Experience in medical device, aerospace or another highly regulated precision manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
