Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize plant equipment in a dynamic industrial setting. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance and ensuring safety, quality, and reliability of production processes.

Responsibilities include executing work orders, repairing electrical systems, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Journeyman Electrician License required.
  • Industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing or related tech environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, motors, controls, instrumentation, and production equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics and maintenance docs.
  • Knowledge of preventive/predictive maintenance and safety (LOTO).

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize plant equipment.
  • Interpret and execute maintenance work orders with safety in mind.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime.

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing manufacturing and production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. You will support production by performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and operational standards.

As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for:
  • Performing maintenance repairs on plant equipment and machinery within the scope of expertise.
  • Interpreting and executing maintenance work orders while adhering to established safety procedures and safe work practices.
  • Conducting preventive and predictive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Monitoring, operating, and adjusting production and process equipment to support manufacturing operations.
  • Troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, and repairing electrical, instrumentation, and control systems associated with production equipment.
  • Operating and adjusting equipment controls to ensure compliance with performance requirements and product quality standards.
  • Monitoring manufacturing processes and testing finished products to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality requirements.
  • Supporting quality assurance activities in accordance with manufacturing standards, engineering specifications, and ISO requirements.
  • Assisting with the transportation, loading, unloading, installation, and removal of machinery and equipment as required.
  • Performing equipment cleaning, process preparation, and sample collection activities for analysis.
  • Maintaining maintenance records, inspection reports, and operational documentation.
  • Working safely in both indoor and outdoor environments under varying weather conditions.
  • Participating in competency management programs and providing coaching and technical guidance to other technicians in areas of demonstrated expertise.

To be successful in this role you will:
  • Have a High School Diploma, GED, Technical Diploma, or equivalent qualification.
  • Hold a valid Journeyman Electrician License (required).
  • Have experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, production, processing, or a related technical environment.
  • Have experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, motors, controls, instrumentation, and production equipment.
  • Be able to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and maintenance documentation.
  • Have knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
  • Have a strong understanding of industrial safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Be able to document maintenance activities and support operational improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, energy, industrial, or process plant environment.
  • Experience with PLCs, electrical controls, automation systems, and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of ISO quality standards and quality assurance processes.
  • Previous experience mentoring, training, or coaching technicians.
