Job summary

WOW! Internet, Cable & Phone is seeking a Principal Engineer, Linux & Virtualization Infrastructure to lead design and implementation across multi-datacenter environments. This role focuses on scalable, resilient infrastructure with hybrid work options.

You will drive greenfield deployments, manage virtualization, and partner with networking and security to deliver enterprise-grade solutions. A strong Linux background and leadership in complex projects are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in IT/CS.
• 7+ years in Linux systems administration/engineering or related infra role.
• Expertise with Linux/UNIX operating systems.
• Strong networking fundamentals.
• SAN storage knowledge.
• Experience with virtualization and containerization.
• Proficiency with Windows OS and Office applications.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and configure greenfield datacenter deployments and modernize existing environments.
• Lead integration efforts for new tech and infrastructure solutions.
• Manage multiple virtualization clusters and capacity planning.
• Monitor platforms and drive operational improvements and recovery.
• Collaborate with networking and security teams on enterprise solutions.
• Ensure backups per policy and assist in tech strategy discussions.
