Job summary

NVIDIA CORPORATION is seeking a Principal Linux Kernel Engineer for NVIDIA CPU Server Platforms. You will own the upstream-first Linux kernel strategy, guide architecture decisions, and collaborate with CPU architects, hardware designers, firmware teams, and software engineers to enable NVIDIA CPU platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 14+ years of experience developing Linux kernel software.
• Deep expertise in Linux kernel internals and multiple kernel subsystems.
• Experience influencing upstream kernel development and reviewing patches.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the Linux kernel strategy for NVIDIA CPU platforms with an upstream-first model.
• Lead upstream enablement across major kernel subsystems while minimizing downstream work.
• Track kernel evolution and guide roadmaps across memory, scheduling, virtualization, PCIe, ACPI, RAS, CXL, networking, filesystems, and security.
• Collaborate with CPU architects, hardware designers, firmware teams, and software engineers to influence interfaces for upstream Linux support.
• Represent NVIDIA in the Linux open-source community, drive upstream reviews, and advocate NVIDIA technologies.
• Lead architecture and implementation of kernel support for next-gen CPU/SoC features and simplify software via hardware/firmware improvements.
• Establish best practices for upstream development and maintainability; mentor engineers.
• Coordinate with distributions and ecosystem partners to enable NVIDIA CPU platforms and future kernel capabilities.
