Job summary

Roblox seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead Kubernetes infrastructure in the Compute organization. You will drive the platform's architecture across on-prem and public cloud, supporting thousands of nodes and millions of requests at massive scale.

As a technical anchor, you’ll shape security, multi-tenancy, and automation while mentoring senior engineers and partnering with leadership to chart the roadmap. Equity and full benefits are provided for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems or cloud infrastructure.
• Deep Kubernetes internals knowledge; experience with controllers, operators, API server, etcd.
• Proven ability to design secure, multi-tenant, scalable platforms.

Responsibilities

• Architect long-term Kubernetes platform strategy.
• Design interfaces and tooling for internal customers to consume infrastructure services.
• Resolve scaling bottlenecks in the control plane and improve performance.
• Implement strong security, isolation, and identity solutions.
• Lead automation, observability, and self-healing initiatives to minimize MTTR.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers and influence multi-team initiatives.
