Job Description

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer for our JUDI program. If you are a software leader with experience influencing others, this might be the role for you!

The Principal IT Software Engineer is responsible for designing technology solutions that meet resiliency, stability, non-functional, functional, and operational readiness use cases. This role involves ongoing development, maintenance, support, and architecture of existing systems and platforms. It also provides thought leadership in software architecture, engineering best practices, innovative solutions, and Agile and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design technology solutions ensuring resiliency, stability, and operational readiness
• Develop, maintain, and support existing systems and platforms
• Lead and promote best practices in software engineering, innovation, Agile, and DevOps
• Participate in staffing plans, mentor team members, and provide performance feedback
• Own technology solutions within the area, including proactive monitoring and communication of system health and future plans
• Collaborate with Architecture, Infrastructure, and Security teams to ensure optimal system design and evolution
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience; High School Diploma or GED required
• At least 8 years of technical experience in application development or software implementation
• Continuous education on current technology trends
• Experience with multiple development and support methodologies
• Leadership skills to manage work, influence, mentor, and give feedback
• Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Technical Skills

• Experience with GCP, AWS, Redshift
• Java full stack development
• Strong database skills with MongoDB, Postgres, or similar
• Experience with WS02 and Dynatrace

Physical Demands

• Flexible schedule including weekends/shifts as needed
• Ability to sit, use hands, talk, hear, reach, stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs
• Visual acuity for various vision requirements

Estimated salary range: $108,000 - $184,000 based on experience and skills.
