Job summary

NextEra Energy is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to apply comprehensive knowledge of internal audit principles and procedures to plan, conduct, and complete high‑risk assignments and investigations.

The role emphasizes risk prioritization, planning, fieldwork, and communicating results, with a focus on collaboration and strong analytical skills to support enterprise controls and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or equivalent in accounting/finance.
• Industry experience in accounting, procurement, compliance, and/or risk.

Responsibilities

• Develops new or modified standards or modifies audit processes to enhance audit effectiveness.
• Directs large, complex audit projects by defining scope and writing reports.
• Conducts audits independently or with minimal supervision.
• Writes audit reports with minimal edits.
• Mentors new and intermediate Internal Auditors.
• Performs Sarbanes-Oxley testing as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Develops new or modified standards or recommends modifications to existing audit processes to enhance the effectiveness of audits

• Provides mentoring to new and Intermediate Internal Auditors

Required Qualifications

• High School Grad / GED


• Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience


• Experience: 6+ years

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
