Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources, LLC is seeking an Accountant to support monthly and quarterly reconciliations, intercompany payments, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting. You will assist with journal entries, control adherence, and preparation of schedules to reflect the company’s financial status.

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business and 1+ years of experience are required, with preferred MBA qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Completes monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and researches discrepancies to ensure accurate financial records.

• Identifies and supports process improvements to enhance accounting efficiency and accuracy.
• Assists in preparing financial reports that comply with GAAP and reflect the company’s financial status.
• Maintains accounting integrity through appropriate internal controls and timely journal entries.

Position Specific Description

• Completes monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Processes intercompany ACH and wire payments accurately and timely while adhering to established accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Identifies and supports process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of accounting processes.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing financial reports in a timely manner that are in compliance with GAAP and accurately reflect the financial status of the company
• Keeps abreast of and apply GAAP, SEC regulations, and relative company policies, practices and procedures
• Ensures accounting integrity of corporate financial data through the implementation of appropriate internal controls
• Prepares schedules and journal entries
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
