Job summary

HDR is seeking a Principal, Interiors to lead design teams across disciplines and deliver innovative interiors projects that enhance health and human conditions for communities worldwide.

You will mentor staff, manage client relationships, pursue new business, and promote HDR’s design philosophy while guiding multiple projects from concept through documentation. Location options include Omaha, Kansas City or Dallas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture (from an accredited school).
• Active Interior Design certificate holder or registered Architect in your country of residence.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in a design firm environment.
• Ability to lead a team, develop presentations and present to clients.
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
• Extensive knowledge of local and regional markets.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, mentoring, and people skills.
• Active participant in HDR’s employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Interiors and Office Leadership to support project goals.
• Participate in strategic marketing pursuits and client interviews.
• Advocate for continuous design excellence and project quality.
• Mentor team members and promote HDR’s culture and values.
• Lead design reviews and manage project milestones.
• Set up office environments and cultures that promote design excellence.
• Promote HDR to candidates and assist with interview processes.
• Lead design, technical and management objectives across multiple projects.
