Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Infrastructure Engineer to join the Product Security Engineering team in Dulles, VA, onsite only. You will design, build, automate, and secure production infrastructure and shared services for space systems, collaborating with software, DevOps, and cybersecurity engineers.

You will deploy and maintain Windows and Linux servers, manage AD, DNS, and VMware, and implement IaC with Ansible.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship with an active Top Secret clearance and SCI indoctrination at application time.
Hands-on experience administering Windows Server environments and Microsoft Active Directory including users/groups, GPOs, DNS.
Experience deploying, configuring, patching, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows and/or Linux servers in production environments.
Hands-on experience with TCP/IP networking including DNS, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, and connectivity troubleshooting.
Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi or comparable virtualization platform.
Experience using automation or configuration-management tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Bash.
Ability to document configurations, runbooks, and architectural diagrams clearly.
Strong written and verbal communication for collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities

Own deployment, operation, and lifecycle management of production infrastructure and shared services.
Collaborate with engineers, ISSOs, and ISSEs to translate requirements into maintainable solutions.
Administer AD, Group Policy, DNS, RADIUS, and core identity services for production systems.
Deploy, patch, harden, monitor, and troubleshoot Windows/Linux servers in production.
Manage VMware ESXi/vSphere environments and related virtualization aspects.
Configure Cisco network infrastructure and ensure secure connectivity between systems.
Develop Ansible playbooks, scripts, and automation to standardize provisioning and config management.
Apply IaC and GitOps practices with version control and automated validation.
Implement monitoring, logging, backup, and recovery for production infrastructure.
Troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across compute, networking, storage, auth, and apps.
Maintain runbooks and documentation while driving automation and reducing debt.
