Sanford Health seeks an experienced senior infrastructure leader to design, implement, and manage secure, resilient hosting infrastructure across cloud and on-prem environments.

The role requires 10 years of enterprise experience, strong leadership, and expertise in Python/Bash/PowerShell, networking, and virtualization. Candidates will drive automation and mentor engineers while collaborating with architects to meet strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field.
• 10 years of technical experience in enterprise server, storage, or cloud environments with at least two years in a senior or principal level role.
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise compute systems, storage, hyperconverged infra, cloud PaaS, and server virtualization.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Proficiency with network topologies, protocols, ADCs, load balancers, and firewalls.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor infrastructure engineers and administrators.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

Applies expert technology infrastructure knowledge and experience to research, recommend, design, and implement complex multi-vendor infrastructure solutions for the organization. Responsible for analyzing business and technical requirements, identifying broad design issues, and providing solutions that meet the organization’s needs. Develop, design, and implement secure, resilient, scalable infrastructure solutions (servers, storage, network, cloud) aligned with business goals. Develop strategic and tactical engineering roadmaps for technologies and services in your area of responsibility. Design, implement, and maintain our organization's server, storage and application hosting infrastructure at an optimal level of performance and availability. Apply expertise and problem-solving to consult on technology platforms in a strategic, resilient, secure, and cost-effective manner.

Analyze, scope and identify technical requirements for new and existing products, and determine optimum hosting configuration in hybrid (cloud, on-premises, SaaS) environments. Work with technical architects to obtain strategic designs and ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure. Prototype and validate emerging computing/storage/cloud technologies.

Lead and infrastructure teams in building, managing, supporting and maintaining solutions while ensuring compliance with Sanford policy. Oversee or consult on mid-to-large, complex infrastructure projects. Foster and champion modern IT practices that embrace standardization, automation and artificial intelligence. Mentor senior infrastructure team members to provide technical guidance and promote a culture of excellence.

Build partnerships across the technology organization to align infrastructure design to business, security, resiliency, and architectural standards. Lead or consult on mid-to-large-scale infrastructure projects, requiring deep technical expertise and leadership. Provide strong leadership, communication, and project management skills while managing multiple simultaneous priorities. Work independently with minimal oversight as well as collaboratively as part of multi-disciplined teams.

Qualifications

Proven ability to lead and mentor infrastructure engineers and administrators.

Advanced infrastructure certifications desired.
