Job summary

SciTec Incorporated, a Firefly Aerospace subsidiary, seeks an Infrastructure Principal Engineer to drive private cloud and compute platforms across multiple locations. You will design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure supporting custom applications and DevOps, while automating tasks and ensuring security.

Qualifications include 10+ years of experience, 5+ years in leadership, and an active DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years actively deploying and/or maintaining VMware, Linux, Windows, OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• 10+ years of total professional experience.
• Excellent organizational and mentoring skills.
• Detail oriented with strong communication abilities.
• Active DoD Secret security clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain functional systems and private cloud platforms as a member of the corporate infrastructure team supporting custom applications and DevOps processes
• Resolve issues escalated by lower service desk tiers by troubleshooting deployed, cloud, and local infrastructure
• Automate tasks and monitor their effectiveness
• Mentor team members on technical issues
• Create, oversee, and test security measures (e.g., access authentication and disaster recovery)
• Communicate with users to design and field optimal solutions
• Design and implement solutions to deliver superior system performance, capacity and scalability
• Maintain complete technical documentation in support of Authorization To Operate (ATO) packages
• Other duties as assigned

SciTec has an immediate opening for an Infrastructure Principal Engineer to work with the Infrastructure Team Lead responsible for global configuration management and task execution across multiple locations and compliance environments.

Responsibilities:

The Infrastructure Principal Engineer will support various infrastructure and compute requirements across multiple locations. This person will have expertise in building and maintaining infrastructure platforms based on technologies such as VMWare, Linux and Windows. They will embody eagerness to create and own processes for enhancing the team and streamlining processes.

• Design, deploy and maintain functional systems and private cloud platforms as a member of the corporate infrastructure team supporting custom applications and DevOps processes

Candidates meeting the following criteria will be preferred

• 2+ years of team lead experience
• Security+ Certification
• Experience managing storage appliances
• Linux, VMWare, OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Windows Certifications

The pay range for this position is $149,000 - $184,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills. This is not a guarantee of compensation.
