Westinghouse Electric Company in Pennsylvania is seeking an I&C Training Instructor to support the AP1000 and operating fleet worldwide. The role reports to the Operations and Technical Training Manager and is hybrid, typically 2–3 days on-site at Cranberry Township, PA or Madison, PA.

You will design and deliver initial and continuing training, conduct classroom, plant, and simulator sessions, collaborate with training committees, maintain documentation, and develop advanced educational tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent
• High School Diploma with 4–10 years in nuclear operations or related roles
• Experience with training program design and delivery in nuclear environments

Responsibilities

• Participate in all stages of SAT process for initial and continuing education programs
• Analyze design and implement training needs for their specialty
• Design, develop and implement sessions for licensed and non-licensed personnel including classroom, plant, and simulator
• Collaborate in corrections and testing of simulators
• Coordinate training and support training committees
• Develop supporting documentation and maintain updates
• Develop advanced educational means (simulators, multimedia, videos, models) and maintain them

About the role

As a I&C Training Instructor you will you will support the new generation of reactors including the AP1000 and the operating fleet from all over the world.

You will report to the Operations and Technical Training Manager and be located in southwestern Pennsylvania. The position is hybrid in nature at the discretion of the manager typically requiring 2-3 days/week on-site at the Westinghouse facility in Cranberry Township, PA or Madison, PA. No relocation will be provided for this position.

About the role

1. Participate in all stages of the SAT process of the initial and continuing education programs of their specialty.
2. Carry out the analysis, design and implementation of initial and continuous training needs in their specialty.
3. Design, development and implementation of the sessions corresponding to the initial and continuous training courses of licensed and non-licensed operations personnel, including teaching sessions in the classroom, plant, and the simulator.
4. Carry out the analysis, design and implementation of initial and continuous training needs of their specialty
5. Collaborate in the analysis and implementation of corrections in the simulator when any type of malfunction is detected, also collaborating in the tests that are required.
6. Coordinate training, providing support to training committees and/or planning training programs.
7. Define and collaborate in the development of the supporting documentation required by the assigned activities; as well as in the maintenance and updating of the documentary support already available.
8. Define and collaborate in the development of advanced educational means (simulators, multimedia, videos, models...) related to the assigned functions; as well as in the maintenance and updating of those already available.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s Degree in Science/Engineering OR

A High School Diploma/GED holder AND one of the experience requirements:

4-10 years of experience in the following areas:

• Navy Nuclear Operator OR
• NRC Reactor Operator (RO) License OR
• NRC Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) License OR
• Plant specific SRO Certification OR
• Commercial Nuclear Power Plant Engineer OR
• Commercial or civilian nuclear experience

Additionally:

• Capable of lifting 50lbs without restrictions and be able to push/pull equipment on wheels that weigh 100-400lbs
• Ability to travel internationally up to 25% of the time to remote locations. Peak training seasonal time frames could result in higher travel frequencies

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
