Job summary
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, Florida seeks a Principal Human Factors Engineer to join the Human Systems Integration team. The role focuses on ensuring aircraft hardware and software are operable for US military crews with a strong systems engineering background.
The position requires a background in Human Factors and MIL-STD-1472, experience with usability and workload analyses, and DoD clearance eligibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years in a Human Factors related field or Master’s with 3+ years; PhD with 1 year.
- Active, in-scope DoD and ability to obtain DoD Top Secret clearance (Interim to start).
- Experience with MIL-STD-1472 and Human Systems Integration processes.
Responsibilities
- Support evaluation of requirements aligning with Human Factors best practices per MIL-STD-1472.
- Contribute to Human Factors analyses including task analyses, usability studies, workload and SA surveys.
- Conduct computer-based (NX) and empirical accessibility assessments for operators and maintainers.
- Document HFE processes and products per DoD data item descriptions.
- Collaborate with IPTs to ensure design meets HFE requirements.
- Support Airworthiness analysis and artifact development.
