Draper seeks a Principal Hardware Physics Engineer in Cambridge, MA to design, test, and optimize multi-physics hardware for aerospace and national security programs.

You will work across disciplines on nuclear systems, MEMS sensors, optics, and actuators, providing technical leadership, mentorship, and robust design studies while occasional travel (<1/quarter>) for testing or sponsor visits.

Formación

• Master’s degree in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, optics, or related field.
• PhD preferred.
• 5–10 years of physics engineering experience.
• Requires ability to obtain a government security clearance (Secret preferred).

Responsabilidades

• Develops and applies advanced design methods, theories, and research techniques.
• Analyzes, develops, and recommends design approaches to meet prototype or production requirements.
• Lead technical efforts and mentor junior engineers.
• Develop quantum, optical, and photonic sensors and instruments.
• Perform analytical modeling and finite element analysis.
• Communicate progress through reports and presentations.
