Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to lead the AI Infra Operations team for OCI GPU infrastructure. You will own automation, tooling, monitoring, and reliability across regions to keep GPU fleets highly available.

You will collaborate with software, hardware, and operations teams, mentor junior engineers, participate in on-call rotations, and drive improvements in GPU fleet automation and incident response across the platform.

Qualifications

8+ years of software operations or infrastructure automation experience with Python and Bash.
Expert Linux administration experience (Ubuntu and Oracle Linux) in large-scale production environments.
Strong understanding of distributed systems and service-to-service communication patterns.
Experience with data-center and host-lifecycle management, provisioning, repair workflows, and fleet recovery.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Lead development and maintenance of automation and tooling for OCI GPU infrastructure across regions.
Build monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics for GPU fleet health and capacity using Grafana.
Serve as senior escalation point for complex GPU host and repair issues; participate in incident response and root-cause analysis.
Collaborate with software, hardware, and operations teams to improve GPU operations and reliability.
Document procedures, workflows, and runbooks; mentor junior engineers in operational best practices.
